Breathing in Confinement: On Sunday, February 20, Shabnam Baharfar, a teacher and Teachers Union activist, was released on bail, awaiting the trial.

 

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners ‘Rights League in Iran, on Sunday, February 20, Shabnam Baharfar, a teacher and a Teachers’ Union activist, was temporary released on a bail of 50 million Tomans, awaiting the trial.

 

Ms. Baharfar, along with some other protesters had been arrested on Saturday, February 19, during a protest rally held by the employed and retired teachers in Alborz Province.

 

On Saturday, February 19, 2022, following the call of the Coordination Council of Iranian Teachers’ Unions, the employed and retired teachers staged protest rallies in more than 100 cities across the country. At least 20 protesting teachers were detained by police and security forces during the gatherings.
