Arash Sadeghi sentenced to five years and eight months in prison as well as additional punishments

Breathing in Confinement: Arash Sadeghi, a former political prisoner and one of the detainees of the national uprising, was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court, in Tehran as well as additional punishments, including a ban on leaving the country and being in Tehran for two years.

According “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Arash Sadeghi was sentenced to prison as well as additional punishments.

As per Mr. Sadeghi’s lawyer, Ramin Safarnia, Arash Sadeghi, was sentenced to five years in prison by branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court for the charge of assembly and collusion, and to eight months in prison for propaganda against the regime. He was also banned for two years from leaving the country, being in Tehran or the northern provinces, joining the political and social parties or organizations. His belongings discovered at his home also were confiscated for the benefit of the government.

It should be noted that on Saturday, January 21, Arash Sadeghi was released from Evin prison on bail.
