After seventeenth day of the prisoners’ hunger strike, the authorities of Uremia Prison have been ignoring the demands of the prisoners, so far.
In addition, according to the reports, 20 prisoners of 40 common crime prisoners of ward 12 in prison of Uremia, who have been transferred from other wards to this ward, have asked the prison authorities in writing to return them back to their previous wards but the authority has refused to do so.
However, the main demands of strikers is; the separation of political prisoners from other prisoners..
That is to say, 29 political prisoners of ward 12 in Uremia prison, have gone on hunger strike since 20th of November to protest at “dissolution of political prisoners’ ward” and “pressures from the Ministry of Intelligence on prisoners and their families.”
