Seven political prisoners are sentenced to 11 years and 7 months in prison

Breathing in Confinement – Seven people were sentenced to 11 years and 7 months in prison in the cities of Bukan and Paveh. Their names are Farhad Majidzadeh, Samko Maroufi, Shahoo Khezri, Hooman Feizi, Zhaka Ismailpour, Delshad Faraji and Honar Hosseini. On October 15, 2019, in a protest assembly, they had been separately detained and after the completion of the interrogations, they were temporarily released on bail.
According to the Center for Democracy and Human Rights in Kurdistan, ” A few days ago, Revolutionary Court in Kermanshah sentenced Farhad Majidzadeh, son of Sadeq to one year in prison ‘on the charge of cooperating with one of the Kurdish opposition parties’.” He had been arrested in October 2008, and after a month of interrogation was temporarily released on bail amount of 120 million tomans.
In another news, four civil activists from the County of Bukan, named Samko Maroufi, Shahoo Khezri, Hooman Feizi, and Zhaka Ismailpour, were recently tried and sentenced to imprisonment by Branch 101 of Bukan Criminal Court for “disturbing public order through participating in Illegal rallies.
Based on the verdicts, Samko Maroufi was sentenced to 2 years, Shahou Khazri to 1 year, Hooman Feizi to 4 months and Zhaka Ismailpour to 3 months in prison.
According to the report, Samko Maroufi was informed of his verdict on December 10. The others were tried on December 22 and their verdict was announced on December 26.
