After 30 days in solitary confinement, Shohreh Hosseini transferred to the political women ward of Evin Prison

Breathing in Confinement: On December 27, 2020, after appearing in Evin court, Shohreh Hosseini, a civil activist who had been detained since November 28, 2020, was transferred to the political women ward of Evin Prison. She is currently being held in Evin’s quarantine ward.
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on November 28, 2020, Shohreh Hosseini after appearing in Evin Court, was notified that the amount of her bail had been doubled and was consequently transferred to Evin Prison. Ms Hosseini had since been held in Ward 209, a detention center of the Ministry of Intelligence in Evin Prison. She finally, on December 27, was transferred to the political women ward of Evin Prison.
Shohreh Hosseini had previously been arrested on October 2, 2020, and 4 days later on October 6, she was released on bail of 500 million Tomans, awaiting the trial to be finalized.
While being arrested at her home in Tehran, all Ms. Hosseini’s personal documents and some of her belongings, including her laptop and her cell phone, were confiscated.
On November 28, 2020, Shohreh Hosseini, being summoned to Branch 2 of the Evin Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Judge Haji Moradi, was notified that the amount her bail had been increased to 1 billion tomans. She, therefore, was detained and transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.
During the period of her detention, Shohreh Hosseini had been denied the right of visiting her family members and had only been permitted to call them twice.
Ms. Hosseini has been charged with “collaborating with dissident groups” as well as “propaganda against the regime.”
