Breathing in Confinement – The gathering of people in Mahabad to protest against the suspicious death of Farinaz Khosravani, turned violent with police forces’ interfere.
According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, in the afternoon of 7th May, thousands of people of Mahabad in a protest against the officials’ neglect of the suspicious death of Farinaz Khosravani in this city had a gathering during which dozens of protesters have been arrested by the police forces’ attack.
Earlier, on Monday 4th May, local media had reported the death of Farinaz Khosravani in “Hotel Tara” in the city of Mahabad.
These reports indicated that a girl has committed suicide by throwing herself from 4th floor of the hotel to escape from a man who had tried to rape her there.
Local media did not mention the name of that man, but introduced him as an Intelligence agent, who in collusion with the manager of the Hotel had tried to rape Farinaz Khosravani.
In that protest in Mahabad, people sat fire in some parts of the “Hotel Tara”.
Reports from eyewitnesses suggest that police and special units used shotgun bullets, tear gas and reported injuries among the protesters.
