Abbas Lesani Will Be Released on the Bail

Breathing in Confinement – In the morning of May 10, judicial authorities issued a notification to Abbas Lesani, political prisoner in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz.
According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, in this notice, he has been asked to deposit a bail of 15 million IRR to be released.
This bond is to be deposited to the Branch 6 of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz or Branch 2 of the prosecution of the Revolutionary Court in Ardebil.
This new case was opened against him because of Mr. Lesani’s audio file which was released from Ardabil prison to oppose insulting Turks by a TV program called “Fitileh”.
According to those close to this political prisoner, he has stressed that “no bail will be deposited”, because the freedom of speech is the citizens’ right, recognized in the international community and Iran, and should be respected along with freedom of press and assembly.
Abbas Lesani was sentenced to one year because of protesting against the drying of Urmia Lake and is now spending the waning days of his sentence in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz.
