Latif Hasani threatened by the prison chief on day 45 of his hunger strike

Breathing in Confinement – Latif Hasani, Azari political prisoner, was transferred to clinic of the Rajai Shahr prison, Karaj, on the day 45th of his hunger strike.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, the imprisoned member of “Yani Gamouh” who went on hunger strike since 18th April in protest at violation of the principal of separating prisoners on the basis of kind of crimes in and political prisoners rights of to be transferred to their home city, was transferred to Clinic of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj on first of July.

In this regard, Azam Piri, this prisoner’s wife, told “Breathing in Confinement” reporter: “Today evening, my husband was transferred to clinic of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj as his health condition got worse. However, he refused to get Drip (Serum) and he announced that he is not going to accept thedrip and not going to break his hunger strike unless he is transferred to political prisoners ward.”

She also added: “The clinic authorities considering my husband’s health deterioration recorded what he said and asked him to sign it and then showed Mardani, Prison Chief, the report.”

Mrs. Piri, stated about his husband condition that; Latif Hasani was in Rajai Shahr prison’s quarantine from 28th June and on 30th June he was transferred to ward 10 of this prison. Because of being kept with violent offenders he announced that he will be on hunger strike until they transfer him to political prisoners ward.

“This morning, Mardani, Prison Chief of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, attended ward 10 and threatened my husband. Mardani said that there is no rule regarding prisoners’ separation and if he continues his hunger strike, he will be exiled to another prison.” She said

During a phone call with his wife, Mr. Hasani has emphasized that according to this conversation, the Prison Chief is responsible for any harmful consequences of my hunger strike.

Latif Hasani was sentenced by Tabriz Revolutionary Court to 9 years imprisonment with accusation of establishing an illegal group and propaganda against Regime.
