Breathing in Confinement – Mansour Arvand, Kurdish political prisoner, was executed in prison of Miandoab.
According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, this political prisoner from Mahabad, who was suddenly transferred from this city’s prison to an unknown location, on 10th May this year, had been hanged in the prison of Miandoab.
HRANA News Agency has announced this news and has announced that the date of execution was 6th June, and one of his family members, confirmed the news, saying that on Monday 15th June, they have been declared by the Miandoab prison that they should pay the expenses to get the body of Mansour Arvand.
However, other sources have reported that this prisoner’s sentence was carried out in the morning on 14th June.
Earlier, there were rumors that the Supreme Court has reduced his sentence, which was never communicated to him in writing.
Mansour Arvand is one of the political prisoners of Urmia Central Prison, who went on hunger strike from 20th November 2014 in protest against the violation of the separation of prisoners on the bases of their charges. He had been transferred to Mahabad prison during the hunger strike on 29th November.
Mansour Arvand was arrested at his home in June 2011 and by branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Mahabad, was charged with waging war against God and cooperation with the Kurdish parties, and had been sentenced to death.
