At Least 33 Prisoners Executed In Less Than 10 Days

Breathing in Confinement – At least 33 inmates in various prisons have been executed in less than 10 days in Iran.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, from 21st December until, 28th December 2015, the death sentences of at least 33 prisoners were implemented in Iran.

According to the official media in Iran, only on 21st December, 7 prisoners were hanged in Bandar Abbas, Amol and Qazvin.

Five prisoners, who had been charged with drug trafficking, were executed in Bandar Abbas, and 2 prisoners on charges of murder were hanged in Amol and Qazvin prison.

The Judicial office of Qazvin province also had announced the execution of 8 prisoners, accused of drug trafficking in the late December last year.

HRANA News Agency also has reported the execution of 2 prisoners on the same charge in Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj, on 23rd December.

On 24th December, also 8 other prisoners were hanged in Qazvin prison. The Judicial office in Qazvin province has announced these people’s charges as drug trafficking.

Baluch Activists Campaign and HRANA News Agency have reported 8 executions in Kerman and Khorramabad prisons, in two separate reports.

According to these reports, 5 prisoners were hanged in Kerman with drug-related charges on 25th December.

The identity of one of them, was announced as; Yousef Rigi.

On 26th December, also three prisoners named Behrouz Amiri, Rahman Kazemzadeh and Ali Hasanvand were executed with the same charges, in the prison of Khorramabad.
