Execution of a Baloch prisoner in Zahedan Central Prison

Breathing in Confinement, January 15, 2021: On Thursday, January 14, a Baloch prisoner was executed in Zahedan Central Prison.

According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, on the morning of Thursday, January 14, 2021, a Baloch prisoner named “Jama Zehruzehi”, the son of Shir Ali, was executed in Zahedan Central Prison.

Jama was from Zabol and belonged to the Dahmardeh tribe and was detained in Zahedan Central Prison.

An informed source told the Campaign Reporter: “The day before the execution, his family members through a call from Zahedan Central Prison, were invited for the last meeting with Jama.”

The source added: “On the morning of Wednesday, January 15, Jama’s family went to Zahedan Central Prison and had their last visit with their son, after which Jama was transferred to quarantine ward to serve his death sentence.”

No information is available on his charge, but some sources reported that he had a plaintiff and some said the execution was carried out on drug charges.

Over the last one month, the number of executions in Zahedan Central Prison has significantly increased.

 

In the past one month, at least 11 Baloch young prisoners have been executed in Zahedan Central Prison.
