Breathing in Confinement -Three inmates who (in separate cases) had previously been sentenced to death for murder, were saved from execution with the consent of the victims’ relatives.
According to Mizan, quoting Head of Bureau of Dispute Resolution Councils in Kahnuj, “Three prisoners sentenced to death were released from execution by the consent of 2 victims’ benefactor families in Faryab and Kohnuj.”
“In the first case, the victim’s family members declared their unconditional consent without receiving blood money,” he said.
“In the second case, a trivial dispute, unfortunately, resulted in the murder of two young men in the County of Faryab. Accordingly, two defendants were sentenced to death and the Supreme Court upheld the decision subsequently. The murderers, however, being pardoned by the victims’ families were eventually released from execution.”
