Suspicious death of Ali Ajami, a human rights activist in the United States

Breathing in Confinement, Friday, May 8, 2020: Ali Ajami, an Iranian human rights activist, died at the age of 37 in Texas.
According to Breathing in Confinement, news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, quoting the social media posts: “Mr. Ajami’s body was found on Wednesday morning, May 6, in a lake in Houston, Texas.” The cause of his death is yet to be known!
Mr. Ajami entered the University of Tehran with the rank of 18th in the national entrance exam and was studying law. In February 2010 however, while in his last semester, he was arrested and sentenced by Judge Salavati to four years in prison. Later in the Court of Appeals, his sentence was reduced to two years. After being released from prison, he was expelled from the university despite having only 15 credits left for graduation.
He then immigrated to the United States, where he was working in the field of human rights in Iran and specifically on the situation of political prisoners in Iran.
