Behnam Ebrahimzadeh Transferred to Political Prisoners’ Ward and Ended his Hunger Strike

Breathing in Confinement – Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, political prisoner at Rajai Shahr Prison was transferred to political prisoners’ section after 24 days of wet and 2 days of dry hunger strike.
According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, the imprisoned labor activist was on hunger strike since August 12th in protest at being kept at non-political prisoners’ section and started his dry hunger strike on September 2nd.
He accepted to continue his hunger strike in wet form yesterday when the authorities promised him that he will be transferred to political prisoners’ section soon.
Shahrokh Zamani, Afshin Heyratian and Khaled Hardani, political prisoners at ward 12 of Rajai Shahr Prison went on hunger strike in solidarity with Behnam Ebrahimzadeh on September 1st and 2nd.
Behnam Ebrahimzadeh was transferred to Moghaddasi Court at Evin prison and then to ward 209 on May 3rd.
He was under interrogation until August 12th on charge of disturbing the prison order.
According to informed sources this was because of the raid of the prison guard into ward 350 on April 17th.
Behnam Ebrahimzadeh, labor activist was sentenced to 5 years in prison on charge of collusion and gathering against the national security by the appeal court. Previously he was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the revolutionary court.
He has been arrested on June 12, 2010.
