Breathing in Confinement: On Wednesday, July 30, 2024, at least 6 protest rallies were held. Concurrently, the strike of the workers of 123 contracting companies in the oil industry continued.

According to the statistics center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, “Breathing in Confinement”, parents of twelfth grade students from various cities gathered in protest against the lack of proper review of the final exam papers of their children after registering their objection. The parents of the students have been gathering for several days.

The workers of the Middle Eastern Sugar Company in Shush held their third day of rally and protested the charting and dismissal of a large number of workers.

On the third day of their protest, the dismissed workers of Shadegan steel company gathered in front of the factory entrance. These workers are protesting against the non-renewal of their contract and their dismissal.

The farmers of Khorasgan in Isfahan province continued their sit-in in Khorasgan Square in protest of the authorities not responding to their demands. Farmers are demanding their water share to irrigate their gardens and fields.

The buyers of cars from Shahin G company, held a rally in front of the presidential building in protest against the forced conversion of their purchased manual gear cars to an automatic ones and the demand of 200 million tomans surplus by Saipa.

A group of people from Piranshahr gathered in front of the city’s electricity department in protest against frequent power outages.

The strike of thousands of contract workers in the oil, petrochemical and power plant industries continued in more than 123 companies. By continuing their strikes, the workers are demanding the removal of contractors from the fields of oil and gas and petrochemicals, the implementation of 14 days of work and 14 days of off, an increase in wages and the payment of salaries equal to other employees of the oil company, and the payment of job benefits. Workers’ strikes started on June 19 and have continued for more than 40 days.
