Prison guards inspected political prisoners’ room at Uremia Prison

Breathing in Confinement – Prison guards of Uremia prison, at the eleventh day of political prisoners’ hunger strike in that prison, inspected one of the rooms of these prisoners.

According to the report of “Breath in Confinement”; At 12 p.m. of the first of November, the prison warden of Uremia prison, along with 5 soldiers entered the room number 1 of the ward 12, and following  inspection prisoners’ personal belongings, seized their telephone books and private notes and took them away.

That is to say that, 29 political prisoners from ward 12 of the Central Prison of Uremia have gone on hunger strike since 20th November in protest at  the “dissolve of political prisoners’ ward” and also against the “pressures from the Ministry of Intelligence on prisoners and their families”.

Prison officials on several occasions have threatened these prisoners, particularly the prisoners on the death row that if they do not stop hunger strike, their death sentences will be carried out.
