The political prisoner, Zahra Zehtabchi returns to Evin Prison at the end of her leave period

Breathing in Confinement: On August 29, 2021, Zahra Zehtabchi, a political prisoner sentenced to ten years in prison, returned to Evin Prison by the end of her leave period.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Zahra Zehtabchi, a political prisoner who is spending her 10-year sentence in Evin Prison, returned to Prison on Sunday, August 29, 2021, after her leave period ended. She had been sent on leave about a month ago after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
Zahra Zehtabachi had been arrested along with her husband and daughter on October 16, 2013, . She was held for 14 months in solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin Prison, and then was transferred to the women’s ward of Evin.
On December 8, 2014, she was sentenced to 12 years in prison by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Salavati, on charges of “Baqi” (armed rebellion against the Islamic ruler) as well as “moharebeh” (i.e. fighting against God) via supporting the Mujahedin-e Khalgh Organization. One year later, pursuant with the Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the Court of Appeals reduced her sentence to 10 years in prison.
Mrs. Zehtabchi had previously also been detained by Tehran security police in 2009, for conducting a poll for “University Jihad of Tehran University” on the subject of public opinion about the results of the 10th presidential election. She however, was released a few days later.
