Breathing in Confinement: On August 10, 2021, the civil activist, Nasser Hemmati, to serve his sentence, was arrested and transferred to Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan, following being summoned by the prison’s Sentence Implementation Unit.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Nasser Hemmati, a physician, translator and civil activist, was arrested and transferred to prison after being summoned to Dastgerd prison’s Sentence Implementation Unit. On August 2, he had announced the news of being summoned by the Prison’s Sentence Implementation Unit to serve his sentence.
Mr. Hemmati had previously been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Isfahan to two years in prison for “offending the Supreme Leader”.
On Thursday, December 26, 2019, following a call for holding a tribute on the 40th day of the death of the protesters killed in November 2019 uprisings, Nasser Hemmati, a physician and civil activist in Isfahan, had been arrested by security forces. He was later released on bail awaiting the court’s decision.
