Zeinab Jalalian and Soheila Hijab are on hunger strike in Qarchak prison

Breathing in Confinement: Zeinab Jalalian and Soheila Hijab went on a hunger strike to protest the poor conditions in Qarchak Prison, and requesting for transfer.
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, Zeinab Jalalian, a political prisoner who in month of May, was transferred from Khoy Prison to Qarchak, has been on a hunger strike since Saturday, June 20, protesting against the transfer.
In addition, Soheila Hijab, another political prisoner, has been on a hunger strike since June 16, to protest her poor detention condition in Qarchak prison in Varamin as well as the pressures imposed on her family.
In recent days, Ms. Hijab on an audio message, reiterating on continuation of her hunger strike, has urged people to join her in her protest. She has announced her requests from hunger strike as; putting an end on opening cases against her family and in particular against her brother, transferring Zeinab Jalalian to wherever she wants and finally, her own transfer to Evin prison.
In the very poor condition of Qarchak Prison, Zeinab Jalalian has recently contracted coronavirus infection without receiving any medical care. She is currently being held in the quarantine ward of Qarchak Prison.
