Breathing in Confinement: On January 19, 2021, a Baloch prisoner named Anwar Aalizehi, was executed in Zahedan Prison.

According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, Anwar had been arrested two years ago on drug charges.

“Being unemployed and having poor living condition, Anwar was transferring drugs, before which he had no criminal record,” said an informed source to the reporter of Baloch Activists Campaign.

It needs to be mentioned that when Anwar’s body was delivered to his family members, they saw that his right eye was bruised and swollen. The fact that indicates that the prisoner was tortured before the execution.

In the last one month, about 15 Baloch citizens have been executed in Zahedan Central Prison on various charges. And the numbers have risen several times in compare to the similar period in the year before.
