Breathing in Confinement – Hamid Babaei has been transferred to the clinic of Evin prison.

According to the report of “Breathing in Confinement”, Graduate student of Hamid Babaei who was arrested when he returned from Belgium to Iran and was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment had passed out during past week and was finally transferred to the clinic of Evin prison.

The Clinic authorities have given him some medicine.

His wife has written in her Facebook Profile: “We met yesterday, all over his skin was full of insect bites. It was terrible.”

Hamid Babaei was arrested on August 13, 2013 and was under detention for 35 days in solitary confinements of wards 240 and 209.

On December 21, 2013, Judge Salavati tried him in a trial which took only 10 minutes. He was not allowed to have his lawyer and was charged with “Espionage and Cooperation with foreign Countries”. He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, 4 years of which is suspended.

He is being held in the quarantine of Evin prison at the moment.
